Rambling On...A lot On My Mind....
Ok, I know I haven’t updated this blog site in a really long time. So I will do so now, and I have a lot on my mind….
What is the matter with the Oakland Athletics? They get back in the race after being 10 games out, take 2 of 3 exciting games from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to give them a 1 game lead in the AL West. They take 2 of 3 against the wild card contenders Minnesota Twins (only loss was a 1-0 pitching duel between Johan Santana and Danny Haren). That is where it all came to an end. The A’s have since been swept by the Baltimore Orioles and losing 2 of 3 to the Kansas City Royals. And both times the A’s had the lead, and the bull pen blew it. Inexcusable!
Staying on the A’s, I would have to say that Huston Street is the favorite to win the AL ROY (Rookie of the Year) award. When was the last time that you can think of that a 22 year old rookie was put into a closer role on a playoff contending team? And he has done remarkable (4-1, 16 Saves, 1.31 ERA, .92 WHIP, .178 BAA), close 2nd is Oakland teammate Nick Swisher.
I am very upset with Rod Thorn and the New Jersey Nets. 3 weeks ago, the Nets were on the verge of signing Shareef Abdur-Rahim to a 6 year contract. He takes his physical and the Nets found *ruined* cartiledge in his knee, which he injured while he was in highschool. But here’s what I am annoyed about…Shareef has never missed a practice or time in a season due to his knee. Yes, he was injured last year, but that was because of an injured elbow. I do understand Thorns position on this, but Kidd isn’t getting any younger, and this is the Nets time to win. Not 6 years down the road. NOW! This is their best opportunity.
The Nets were able to use their trade exemption on the 76ers Marc Jackson. Now that’s an enforcer. A career 12/5 guy, who also averages a whopping 0.2 Blocks/game. Now, that’s some inside presence.
Why are people hating on the Celtics signing my man Brian Scalabrine to a a 5 year $15 mil deal? I’ll guarantee them nothing but hustle and a guy who provides them valuable minutes, around 20/game along with 8 pts 5 boards a game.
Make sure to go see Wedding Crashers “you motor boatin’ son-of-a-b*tch”.
Make sure to go see Wedding Crashers twice.
If you had the #1 pick in an upcoming NFL draft, who would you take? Peyton or L.T.? I need some responses and answers for the upcoming draft on September 1st. I’m nervous.
A few weeks ago my buddy Mike and I were discussing the “proper” time when a man and woman should allow themselves to show effection in public, such as holding hands. I say 3 weeks. He thinks I’m ridiculous. But he also thinks its funny that I take people out on dates.
I’m still trying to get past level 8 on PacMan on the Hard Level.
My work softball team made it to the Beer League Softball Championship. Our first game is tonight. I don’t like to lose.
Until next time...Stay Classy
